We are seeking a credible expert nursing leader in clinical governance and quality assurance with extensive experience working at an Executive Nursing level. This successful post holder will work closely with, and be accountable to the Regional Chief Nurse. As the Director of Nursing: Quality Governance, this role will deputise for the Regional Chief Nurse as required.
Working as part of the senior nursing and midwifery team the postholder will ensure the delivery of key objectives to support the delivery of regional priorities, national policy, nursing & midwifery strategy and professional priorities specifically relevant to quality governance, and the delivery of the objectives of the Regional Chief Nurse.
The successful candidate will provide specific leadership and focus on nursing & midwifery quality governance, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, quality of mental health services and independent investigations.
Further, the post holder will ensure that the correct quality governance arrangements are in place to assure the Regional Leadership Team, wider NHS England colleagues and key strategic partners of the organisation’s ongoing capability and capacity to meet its duties and responsibilities
Lead for quality governance, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, quality of mental health services and independent investigations. quality and productivity improvement, research and data management
Provide professional and clinically relevant information and advice to the national, regional and system teams
Lead the oversight of quality in mental health services working in partnership with other directorates and external partners
Line management of the independent investigation function and mental health quality team
Provide professional advice and support in the region, supporting oversight of PSIRF reporting and learning along with the regional medical directors.
Act as a champion for patients and their interests overseeing patient involvement and experience
Provide clinical specialist advice and expertise on nursing, midwifery and care delivery issues for those developing and designing systems / policy at the highest levels
Support the Chief Nurse on professional matters linked to their portfolio, leadingon initiatives as identified through personal action and professional leadership
Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the region working closely with medical colleagues to ensure clinical engagement and coordination is at the heart of assurance and improvement
Support the delivery of key policy areas to improve public health and prevent ill health.
