The Project Manager will oversee refurbishments, new installations and minor projects ranging from values of £25k-1m.
Location: Redditch, West Midlands
Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday, 40 Hours
Job Type: Permanent / Full Time
The Project Manager will:
1. Undertake the management of all site staff
2. Drive planning of project
3. Tender on projects from inception to completion
4. Manage and control all project resources
5. Be responsible for the overall management of the project
6. Ensure all Company Procedures are being complied with
7. Ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are followed
8. Be responsible for achieving high standards of quality and workmanship on site
9. Ensure that all aspects of the project are effectively monitored and controlled
10. Deliver project within programme and budget
11. Ensure adherence to site specific project protocol and procedures
12. Manage and monitor subcontractors
13. Communicate effectively with the project management team
14. Liaise with client and designers
15. Attend and chair regular project progress meetings and compile progress reports for presentation to the Client
16. Attend and chair regular sub-contractor meetings as required
17. Compile and distribute project meeting minutes
18. Maintain contractual records of all project related matters
19. Attend and provide input on regular contract meetings with the Client
20. Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate
21. Control contract costs
22. Positively promote the company wherever and whenever possible
23. Compile and submit O&M manuals upon project completion
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the job title and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.
About You
Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrate previous experience in a Project Management role.
2. Demonstrate strong communication and management skills.
3. Demonstrate knowledge in construction design management (CDM)
4. Experience in tendering on new projects from inception through to completion.
5. Experience in the delivery of commercial projects up to a value of £1mil
6. Ability to manage and deliver numerous concurrent projects of varying financial values and scope
7. Knowledge / understanding of NEC 4 contracts (preferable)
8. Ability to plan and programme projects using MS Project
9. Excellent IT skills I.E Microsoft Office
10. Excellent presentation skills
Desirable Criteria
1. NVQ Level 7 Construction Management
2. Knowledge of building regulations
3. Ability to manage time and workload
4. CSCS black manager’s card
5. SMSTS certificate
6. MCIOB
