Weare delighted to be in a position of expanding our workforce and are looking toappoint a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our well established and innovativechildren and young peoples mental health service in South Tyneside.
Weare looking for an individual who has the ability to support the leadership ofSouth Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust children and young peoplesmental health workers in our Lifecycle Service.
Theteam is multi-disciplinary and is comprised of high and low intensity Childrenand Young Peoples Mental Health (CYPMH) practitioners providing a range oftherapeutic interventions to children, young people and there families whopresent with moderately severe mental health conditions.
We expect the post holder to have sound children and young peoples mental health knowledge and skills. You will have the aptitude, motivation and enthusiasm for working within a ground breaking service.

Job responsibilities
To be the team level clinical lead for clinicians in the designatedspecialty, leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery ofrobust evidence-based practice.
To participate in the establishment of systems, assisting the Clinical TeamManager in the development of clinical practice, to ensure that thedevelopments are embedded within the team and are sustainable.
To ensure high professional standards of clinical practice in accordancewith the NMC code of conduct and other relevant professional regulatory bodies,with professional accountability to the Nursing and Governance Directorate.
To lead the planning, implementation, and participation in training andeducational activities relevant to practice development for clinicians in thedesignated specialty.
To support the Clinical Team Manager and other senior clinical staff inestablishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within theestablished governance framework.
To undertake ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned byresearch and evidence-based practice. Undertake research as part of the role.
To coordinate and deliver clinical and caseload management supervisionto support all clinical staff within the area of responsibility.
To undertake assessment and provide person-centred care and treatmentwithin the clinical framework and Trust protocol, in accordance withqualification and competence to practice.
To promote at all times a positive image of children and young peoplewith mental health conditions.

Qualifications
* Registered nurse with appropriate registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
* Additional post graduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, therapeutic training or other relevant area.

* Accreditation with relevant therapeutic body.
* Formal leadership training, e.g Leading Empowered Organisations; IAPT Transformational Leadership Programme.
Physical Skills
* Combination of sitting, standing and walking is required.
* May be required to move and handle objects in line with Trust guidelines using appropriate aids.
* The post holder will be required to work flexibly sometimes working additional or unsocial hours as necessary to meet the needs of the service and ensure a complete understanding is had in relation to care delivery.
