Job Summary: The Nutrition and Quality Manager will oversee the research and development, formulation and new product development of animal feed ensuring continuous improvement in the areas of process, quality and customer focus while continuing to uphold Grober Nutrition’s leading reputation within the industry.
The Nutrition and Quality Manager will also be responsible for leading the quality team and for ensuring the highest level of quality standards pertaining to CFIA, FeedAssure requirements and HACCP plans are compliant and meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Day to day oversight, mentoring and coaching of Nutrition and Quality Assurance team.
2. Foster a culture of Innovation, drives continuous improvements initiatives within R&D to improve product performance, animal health and productivity.
3. Identify, guide and manage research and development activities that align with strategic priorities of the organization.
4. Ensure business support projects are completed in a timely manner by optimizing resources.
5. Stay current on the latest scientific advancements and emerging trends; including feeding technologies that will allow the company to continue to differentiate and lead in the industry.
6. Develop a strong connection with leading researchers, consultants, veterinarians and influencers to identify collaboration opportunities to advance our knowledge and brand.
7. Work closely with sales and marketing team to assist in the sales and marketing of products, including new product development.
8. Provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders on animal nutrition and feeding practices.
9. Continuously seek ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of nutrition programs to promote sustainability, cost effectiveness and animal welfare.
10. Oversee quality control processes throughout the production cycle to ensure product consistency and safety.
11. Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
12. Stay current on the latest updated feeds regulations and labelling requirements.
13. Provide guidance and support for external audits and inspections from regulatory bodies or certification organizations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in animal science, Nutrition, or a related field.
2. Minimum 4 years’ experience within an animal nutrition capacity.
3. Proven experience in animal nutrition and feed formulation.
4. Strong understanding of quality assurance and control principles.
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
6. Experience leading and managing a team.
