Hutcheon Mearns is supporting an SME based in Fife in their search for a highly motivated Finance Manager to take on a permanent position within this growing business. This is a new role which will oversee the day to day financial operations and systems of the business, oversee a small team and provide financial insight for the business owners and management team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will work at the heart of the business, supporting both the daily operations and the long-term growth plans of the organisation. The Opportunity As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial information. You will oversee budgets, prepare quarterly management accounts, undertake cashflow forecasting and ensure the efficiency of financial systems and processes. You will have a hands-on role, overseeing 2 Accounts Assistants and will take on the lead finance role within this small team. Your responsibilities will include; Financial Management Lead the preparation and management of budgets, monthly management accounts, and year-end processes. Management of cash flows, ensuring efficient financial operations Maintenance of the fixed asset register and adherence to purchasing policies Supervise bank reconciliations, purchase ledger management and credit control activities Ensure the integrity of the purchase ledger and reconciliation activities for management accounts Weekly sales figure capture and monitoring of discrepancies Payroll management Responding to financial data requests and handling enquiries professionally and promptly Management of a small team ( 2 within accounts administration) Operational and strategic contribution: Support the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes (current system, Sage Line 50). Play an active role in the development and growth of the business, contributing financial analysis and insight. The Candidate You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant or have proven experience in a proven financial management role. You will have strong analytical skills, an eye for detail and the ability to communicate financial information to stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of working in a dynamic, fast-paced sector and enjoy a varied role. This role will be based in-office but the organisation operates with flexibility. The standard working hours are 9am - 5pm and start and finish times can be flexible to suit. Reduced/condensed hours working patterns will also be considered.
