JOB TITLE: Project Manager (Temporary Facilities)

Summary
NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK’s leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.
As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new vacancy for a project manager to be responsible for the accurate planning of resources to deliver temporary facilities (offices, working & lay-down areas) for the MEH. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success, optimise processes and achieve the strategic objectives of the organisation.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
1. Define objectives in collaboration with the Site Wide Projects Lead.
2. Develop robust project plans, including timelines, milestones, and appropriate resource allocation.
3. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet wider construction project objectives.
4. Ensure design & build work packages are planned & co-ordinated effectively.
5. Lead a multi-discipline project team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
6. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring alignment with project goals.
7. Provide guidance, support, and motivation to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Facilitate communication and coordination between departments to ensure smooth project execution.
9. Identify potential risks to the Compounds strategy and develop mitigation to minimize impact on project outcomes.
10. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, making adjustments as needed.
11. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, site standards, and organizational policies.
12. Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management.
13. Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
14. Prepare and present project reports, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
15. Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns promptly.
16. Ensure that build specification meets the client’s & wider statutory standards and are completed to the required specifications.
17. Implement and maintain best practices in project management and operations.
18. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
19. Conduct post-project evaluations to assess performance and identify lessons learned.
20. Allocate resources effectively to ensure project needs are met.
21. Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and external partners to secure necessary resources.
22. Track resource utilization and optimize resource allocation to maximize project outcomes.
23. Ensure material flow meets production demand.
24. Ensure materials are handled according to quality standards.
25. Set up MSP (Mobile Service Point) end to end process.
What we’re looking for:
1. HNC qualified in a project, technical or construction related discipline or demonstrable relevant experience.
2. Experience in a construction/project engineering role, ideally in the nuclear or other regulated industry.
3. Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher).
4. SSSTS/SMSTS.
5. Knowledge of building and fire regulations – BS5395 & BS5975 (desirable).
6. CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS (desirable).
7. IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH (advantageous).
