Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a secondment for 12 months for a principle clinical or counselling psychologist with the capability to deliver support the development of the newly transformed Mental Health and Wellness Team psychological services speciality.
We are currently offering hours post in the borough of Redbridge NELFT.
This post is aimed at enhancing Service user experience through an MDT approach while retaining the psychological specialist interventions to support service user’s journey.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team for the MHWT offering Evidence based interventions, consultation, training, supervision, and service development.
We are looking for a principal psychologist that is able and committed to working in partnership with service users and multi-disciplinary colleagues and are able to support the psychological professions lead and team in moving the service forward.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 pro rata for part time).
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 pro rata for part time).
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be part of a well-established and supportive psychological therapies service.
The post holder will receive supervision appropriate to their role and we are committed to supporting identified training and practice development needs.
Applicants should have:
Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology and registration with the Health Professions Council
A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience of working in an evidence-based model with clients presenting with complexity.
Extensive experience of working in multi-disciplinary service context.
Post holders will have one session per week CPD pro rata.
The psychology service regularly takes doctoral level clinical and counselling psychology trainees from London universities. The Trust has a positive commitment to training and development and expects its psychology staff to engage in helping to modernise the skills of the workforce. Psychological therapies are highly regarded and seen as pivotal in supporting the roll out of NICE guidance and other Department of Health requirements.
