This is an exciting time to join Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as we work on the expansion of our elective theatres at Ashford Hospital, & move towards this becoming our dedicated elective centre, whilst we are increasing our CT services at Woking CDC.

We are looking to appoint to a number of roles to support this dedicated site, including this position of Senior Radiographer (Full time position).
You will be a senior radiographer in CT and work closely with the CT Superintendent Radiographer with a particular emphasis on the day-to-day running of the 4 CT Scanners across 3 sites. You will be experienced in all CT procedures and provide a patient-focused professional service. Some managerial experience is required & in conjunction with the Superintendent you'll lead the service through changing and challenging times. You'll be expected to rotate through all areas of the department.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
* Work alongside the CT Superintendent to integrate the CT scanning services at Ashford and St Peters NHS Hospital Trust.
* Participate in the training of junior radiographers, student radiographers, and RDAs.
* Deputise for the CT Superintendent in periods of absence.
* Work in conjunction with the CT Superintendent to improve service delivery and service improvement.
* Maintain high clinical standards, particularly regarding patient care, clinical risk, and health and safety.
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals and departmental staff on a daily basis to ensure optimal care for patients.
* Continue to develop one's own knowledge, practice, and development through continued professional development.
To maintain clinical expertise by rotating through other imaging service areas as appropriate.
Job responsibilities

In summary, the successful candidates will need to hold a DCR or BSc Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent) with current Membership to the Professional Body (HCPC) and significant clinical experience. People management experience is also essential as well as an understanding of requirements and standards such as IRMER, IRR17, and Infection Control.
The department operates a shift system covering 7 days, working 12-hour shifts. The successful candidate has the option to take part in these and therefore needs to be able to work 3 or 4 shifts a week, either 8 am to 8 pm or 8 pm to 8 am. There is an attractive shift allowance given for working this.
There is a commitment from the department to ongoing CPD and support additional postgraduate training.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* DCR or BSc Diagnostic Radiographer (or equivalent)
* Evidence of CPD
* Current Membership to Professional Body
* Trained in cannulation and administration of contrast media
* Competency in cardiac CT scanning
* Competency in CT Colon scanning
Experience
* Experience in all aspects of CT scanning, technique, and management
* Some experience of team building and leading, staff training, and supervision
* Proven ability to deliver a high-quality service
* Experience of using radiology computer systems (CRIS/PACS)
* Assisted in developing service and implementing change
Knowledge
* Previous experience of teaching staff in CT scanning techniques and procedures
* Thorough knowledge of normal anatomy, physiology, and pathology of CT examinations.
Skills
* Can communicate effectively to ensure high standard of care, treatment, service, or support as appropriate to the role
