Academics are working with a Primary school in South Ockendon, Essex who are currently looking to appoint an SEND Teaching Assistant. This school offers excellent support and training, making it a great opportunity for the rest of the academic year. This will be a full-time, long-term position.
This is a long-term SEND Teaching Assistant role with the view to move to a permanent contract for the right candidate. The school is ideally looking for someone with school experience but will also consider candidates with transferable skills. Graduates and experienced Teaching Assistants are welcome to apply.

The Role:
1. Working collaboratively with the class teacher to provide excellent learning to all pupils with a range of abilities.
2. Providing support and assistance to individual students or small groups.
3. Supervising pupils outside the classroom during lunchtime, field trips, or break time.
4. You may be required to work collaboratively with outside specialists, adopting a multi-agency approach.
The Applicant:
1. Hold a current DBS on the update service or be willing to have one processed.
2. A Teaching Assistant or other relevant qualification is desirable but not a necessity.
3. Knowledge of the additional needs that a child with SEND may have, and how to support them.
4. The applicant should be a patient, compassionate, calm, and approachable individual who is good at building rapport with pupils.
5. You must have a desire to make a difference in young people's lives.
6. Have experience working with children or young people.
7. Have GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
