We are seeking a talented Design and Manufacturing Engineer to join our dedicated team and drive the optimisation of our manufacturing processes.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing, improving, and scaling our manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality.
This is a hands-on role; the ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in 3D CAD, ideally familiar with Fusion 360, along with an ability to lead and problem-solve within a small, high-performing team. Experience with prepreg composite manufacturing is highly desirable, but training will be provided where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
* Manufacturing Process Optimisation:
* Conduct a detailed analysis of current manufacturing workflows to identify inefficiencies.
* Develop and implement streamlined procedures to improve production flow.
* Standardise manufacturing processes to enhance quality and consistency.
* Use 3D CAD to create and modify designs for carbon fibre and 3D-printed parts.
* Support mould and pattern production with precise 3D modelling.
* Resource & Performance Management:
* Optimise materials, labour, and equipment usage to minimise waste and reduce costs.
* Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software, ideally Fusion 360.
* Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement methodologies.
* Ability to problem-solve and innovate in a hands-on production environment.
* Experience in leading or supervising within a small team.
* Experience with prepreg composite manufacturing (training available).
* Familiarity with 3D printing and advanced manufacturing technologies.
* Knowledge of resource optimisation and lean manufacturing principles.
