The Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Team is a small, dedicated team providing patient-centred assessment, advice and treatment to adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties across Coventry. We have excellent relationships with our Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Dietetic colleagues in our Planned Community Services and work closely with specialist colleagues in the Parkinson's Disease and Motor Neurone Disease MDTs. You would have the opportunity to work with SLTs specialising in progressive neurology, voice and dysfluency. We offer home visits, clinic-based appointments and attendance at the MDT clinics at UHCW across our dysphagia, communication, voice and dysfluency caseloads. Main duties of the job To provide speech and language therapy assessment, treatments and review for patients referred into the services with acquired communication, voice and swallowing needs. This will be for patients predominantly in their place of residence but will include clinic and other settings. To provide expert advice and guidance to patients, carers, health and social care professionals from across multiple providers internal and external to the organisation. To be involved in service developments in order to provide the best service to our patients The CINSS Team is a team of multidisciplinary therapists who deliver a rehabilitation service to people, following an injury or a diagnosis which affects the brain, spine, or nerves. You will have the opportunity to offer regular goal focused therapy intervention for communication and dysphagia alongside colleagues from the MDT. We will support your development through Band 5 NQP and dysphagia competencies across both teams, and you will be able to access peer supervision from your colleagues already on the rotation.
