Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join a precision manufacturing company in Leeds. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that products meet the highest quality standards by conducting thorough inspections and tests throughout the manufacturing process. If you have experience in a precision engineering environment and a strong understanding of inspection techniques, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Inspection: Approve finished products by confirming they meet specifications through visual and measurement tests, and manage rework processes for non-conforming items.
2. Incoming Goods Inspection: Validate incoming materials and products to ensure they meet specification requirements, both visually and dimensionally.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all measuring equipment is maintained in optimal condition and notify the relevant personnel for any repairs.
4. Non-Conformance Reporting: Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and manage non-compliant parts.
5. Reporting: Create detailed reports for dimensional, hardness, and visual inspections.
6. Customer Support: Facilitate customer witness activities on-site, as required.
7. Health & Safety: Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety standards and legal regulations.
8. Continuous Improvement: Support ongoing development through retraining and collaboration across departments.
Key Requirements
Essential:
1. Proven experience working in a precision manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
3. Strong knowledge of geometric tolerances and various measurement methods.
4. Competent in the use of manual measuring equipment such as micrometres, callipers, bore mics, thread gauges, and surface testers.
5. Experience with the inspection of machined components.
6. Familiarity with Mitutoyo and Aberlink CMMs.
7. Understanding of non-conformance procedures.
8. Proficiency in using Rockwell and Brinell hardness test machines.
Desirable:
1. PCN Level II in Dye Penetrant testing.
2. Experience with CMM programming (Mitutoyo/Aberlink software).
3. Familiarity with NDE techniques and the use of Trimos vertical height gauges.
4. Ability to operate Faro Arms and other advanced inspection tools.
