A new opportunity has arisen for an In-house Security Officer to join our team based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a pro-active and professional security presence. You will play a large role in both operational flow and facility safety.
What you’ll do
1. Provide a security presence within our Hatfield, Hertfordshire office
2. Provide a customer-focused service
3. Direct visitors by maintaining employee and department directories and giving instructions
4. Manage security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor badges and providing site induction if necessary
5. Maintain a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
6. Ensure that all telephone calls are dealt with in a timely and professional manner
7. Meet & greet visitors, signing them into the building and providing passes, contacting their hosts, and inducting them to the site
8. Be aware of Health, Safety, and Security
9. Act as the first point of contact for many of our customers and project a professional image
10. Ensure all staff not based at this building sign in and, if necessary, provide them with temporary visitor passes
11. Assist the Facilities team in the delivery of general site-based activities as directed
12. Carry out additional works as directed by the Security Manager
13. Conduct regular CCTV checks and patrols of all building and external areas
What you’ll need
1. Previous security awareness and knowledge
2. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
3. Proficiency with computers and relevant software applications including CCTV
4. Awareness of customer service principles and practices
5. An understanding of building management
6. Verbal and written communication skills
7. Professional personal presentation
8. Attention to detail
9. Initiative and flexibility
10. Knowledge of intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems
