As part of the extra investment that is coming into Mental Health Services as part of the NHS Long Term Plan, we are excited to be able to expand and transform what we offer to this service user group and their families.
We are looking to recruit 2 full time Band 6 Mental Health Practitioners working as part of the Personality Disorder Hub alongside our already growing team, working within the LMHT across Nottingham City. There will be an expectation that you will be able to work and travel across the whole of the city, however you will be based at a named LMHT for the majority of your time and required to have a visible presence. You will provide SCM to the LMHT caseload as well as undertaking short pieces of assessment and formulation work whilst providing training, consultation and supervision to LMHT colleagues. Whilst you will be embedded within the LMHTs, your line management and supervision will come from the PD Pathway Team Hub. There may be opportunities for other forms of treatment/therapy for clients with Personality Disorder depending upon funding.
If you have qualifications and/or experience of delivering DBT or CBT for personality disorder, we would welcome your application and would look to support you to utilise these skills within the pathway.
Main duties of the job
You will be working as a band 6 Mental Health Practitioner delivering SCM (Structured Clinical Management) to clients on an individual and group basis (training will be provided as required). You will be expected to undertake assessments and formulation work for clients who meet the criteria for the Personality Disorder Pathway within the LMHT caseload.
You will be expected to support the wider LMHT in working with and managing clients with complex emotional needs. This will include providing some elements of training consultation and supervision to the LMHT as well as being involved in MDT's and case discussions.
Job responsibilities
This is a great opportunity to work in the Personality Disorder Team hub for Notts HC.
The role is full-time, Monday to Friday.
We have 2 positions available, covering the LMHT's in the City. There is an expectation that you would be able to be flexible as required and cross cover amongst all of the LMHT's.
This position is for Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurse (RMN) or AHPs.
To provide community treatment for clients under the Personality Disorder pathway in the form of SCM (Structured Clinical Management). This would be through individual sessions and group sessions, both of which are essential parts of treatment which practitioners would be expected to facilitate.
To provide a defined level of assessment and formulation for clients who present with complex emotional needs within an LMHT, assessing both their and their families/carers needs under the care programme approach.
To provide a link between the specialist Personality Disorder pathway and LMHT.
To provide support to the wider LMHT in relation to their offering of interventions for individuals with complex emotional needs and personality disorder traits.
To provide education and support (including clinical supervision) to junior staff members and other professionals.
We are seeking an enthusiastic team player, working within a multi-disciplinary health team who will engage with group and personal supervision. You will also work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agency partners.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Qualifications
* Evidence of post registration clinical practice, development, and training.
* Maintains current registration with the NMC or equivalent statutory body.
* Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration.
Contractual requirements
* You must be able to meet the needs of the service.
* To effectively transport self between bases which may be located in different parts of the County.
* You must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to use a car for work purposes.
Training
* Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery.
* Post registration training in working with clients who have complex emotional needs / personality disorder.
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments.
* Knowledge of the nursing 6 c's.
* Awareness of national and local issues impacting nursing care.
* Understanding of what influences the potential development of complex emotional needs / Personality Disorder.
Skills
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to be flexible and handle conflict issues.
* Good skills in assessment intervention and evaluation of patients nursing care.
