An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for a permanent role as a Highly Specialist Pharmacist for Cystic Fibrosis.
This varied and challenging role will require you to be responsible for providing and developing high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy services to the directorate and supporting their medicines optimisation and medicines governance agenda. Based at Wythenshawe Hospital, The Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre (MACFC) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for the treatment of adult patients with Cystic Fibrosis and pharmacy are well integrated within the multidisciplinary team.
This is an excellent post for a pharmacist who is looking to become fully immersed into a specialist clinical multidisciplinary team and wants to make a real difference to patient care. You will also develop your leadership and management skills and demonstrate your ability to innovate and implement change. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated clinical pharmacist with experience of respiratory and/or cystic fibrosis patients to join the team.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service to Cystic Fibrosis patients and to establish effective relationships with clinical staff and other stakeholders delivering inpatient care to our service users.
To promote the responsible, safe, clinically-effective and cost-effective use of medicines within the division.
To support education and development of medical, nursing and pharmacy staff in your role as Highly Specialist Pharmacist for Cystic Fibrosis.
You will develop your leadership and management skills within Pharmacy, and as a senior member of the Respiratory Pharmacy Team, will be expected to deputise for the 8b Lead Pharmacist when required.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team whilst also managing your own workload. You must be able to manage and motivate others and have the ability to influence the multidisciplinary team and engage with key stakeholders.
