Industrial Engineering determines and applies the most efficient and cost-effective methods for industrial production within the organisation. They design systems that integrate material, equipment, information, and people in overall production processes.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Carry out varied and responsible tasks in connection with Industrial Engineering activities.
2. Independently evaluate, select and apply suitable industrial engineering techniques to help solve problems of a wide-ranging nature.
3. Communicate information effectively.
4. Develop new approaches to problems encountered.
5. Liaise positively and effectively with customers both internally and externally.
6. Develop new approaches to Industrial Engineering solutions.
7. Eliminate or reduce waste in production and related processes.
8. Develop methods that will be used to accomplish all of the tasks involved in production, including devising systems for quality control, distribution, and inventory.
9. Determine the functions and responsibilities of workers and devise and implement evaluation procedures; recommend methods for improving employee efficiency.
10. Create and utilise factory simulation models for analysis of the following:
1. Optimisation for Layout and Flow
2. Mitigate Risk
3. Aid in the decision-making processes while reducing the risk of investment, and by assisting in getting it right first time
4. Resource Utilisation Analysis
5. Comparative Analysis
Candidate Requirements:
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that sufficient detail is provided on the application form to demonstrate how the applicant meets essential job criteria, as this alone will be used for vetting purposes.
1. Possess a minimum of an HNC in Engineering together with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering environment.
2. Be articulate and able to communicate information clearly and concisely.
3. Be able to work as part of a team both at site and group level.
4. Have a working knowledge of our products and production techniques.
5. Can demonstrate application of knowledge and experience within an Engineering Function / Department.
6. Be extremely computer literate.
7. Be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems.
8. Be a self-starter and demonstrate high levels of motivation.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in the use of Simulation Software (SIMIO, QUEST etc) will be highly beneficial. Specific systems training will be provided as required for the role. The role may include travel outside Northern Ireland. Successful candidates will be encouraged to progress towards achievement of an HNC qualification, if not already in possession of this qualification.
