Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Ensuring the dive centre is kept tidy & clean and that all equipment from any training sessions have been cleaned and put away.
* Dealing with enquiries that have come through from past, present and future students and/or customers. This includes greeting people as they arrive on site and serving them, as well as answering phones and replying to online queries.
* Helping with stock management such as ordering stock and accepting incoming deliveries. Assisting in the workshop when needed.
* Helping with course setup and management. Checking on online learning progress, dealing with paperwork and setting up the classroom.

Course contents

Your training plan
The training covers product knowledge through hands-on experience, colleague and customer interactions, and observing courses in action.
You'll also learn kit maintenance while assisting in the workshop and getting hands on with the school kit. Manual handling training will be provided, leading to a City & Guilds certificate. Additionally, you'll earn a PADI Gas Blending qualification, Emergency First Response First Aid qualification and a globally recognized PADI Open Water Diver (18m) certification.
Training will be received throughout your employment and carried out across several locations - HQ (Poole), Dolphin Leisure Centre in Poole and Vobster Quay in Frome. Transport will be provided where needed.

Other requirements
Water confidence skills are essential, you must be able to swim at least 200m non-stop. If you’re already a qualified diver, that’s great but not essential. Some heavy lifting is included, so you’re expected to be able to assist with lifting & carrying. A keen interest in the scuba diving and underwater world is most certainly desirable.
