Bruckshaw Associates are working in an exclusive partnership with a high-end, reputable business based in Cheltenham to recruit an Accounts Assistant. You would be responsible for day-to-day administration of finance duties to include maintenance of our purchase ledger, sub-contractor ledger, and general ad hoc accounts responsibilities.
Working in a friendly environment, you will become part of a team of dedicated people who provide a vital function to the business.
Purchase ledger experience is essential in this role, and experience of working in a similar environment dealing with sub-contractors would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided. You need to be able to work on your own initiative and have good communication skills to build and maintain internal and external relationships. Competent Excel skills are also needed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coding material, plant and overhead invoices
2. Obtain authorisation of outstanding invoices
3. Statement reconciliations
4. Inputting and processing sub-contractor applications/invoices
5. Issuing of tax deduction certificates to subcontractors
6. Dealing with subcontractor account queries
7. Monthly CIS Return to HMRC
8. Maintenance of the Retention Register
9. Ad hoc duties within the accounts department

Progression is available with ongoing support and training to assist the FC with General Ledger duties, including but not limited to - Monthly Journals, Fixed Asset Maintenance, Pre-payments, and Accruals.
