Service Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join an exciting charity, where you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering vulnerable young people.

Salary: £37,380 per annum + pension and other benefits

About the Role
The Service Manager is responsible for ensuring the service delivers excellent and continuously improving project performance in line with the contract for supported accommodation as part of the Manchester Young Futures Pathway. You will deliver the services to achieve a positive impact on outcomes for clients and high levels of partnership and involvement from clients, staff, volunteers and key stakeholders.
You will manage two supported accommodation buildings, one housing 12 young people, and one housing 14 young people, being responsible for the health and safety of the building and all housing management tasks (with support from internal teams and processes).
The service works with young people aged 16-25, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, have slept rough and have complexities in their needs and risks such as being care leavers, having substance use and mental health and wellbeing issues. You will manage a support team, including senior workers and waking night staff. Support will be provided to all young people across the two services, with some degree of resettlement support also. The aim of the service is to support clients to build their skills, be confident in their journey towards independence and move on to independent living, and:
Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop and maintain the skills to live independently
2. Manage finances including access to benefits and debt advice
3. Access a range of services and community facilities to meet their needs, including health care, treatment, mental health support, advocacy, floating support, befriending and social and leisure activities
4. Build on their individual strengths and assets to achieve the outcomes that matter to them in their move to independence and improve health and wellbeing.
About You
You will have experience in managing a service in a support setting with a focus on continuous improvement in working with young people with complex mental health needs.
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
5. A commitment to the ethos and values of the organisation including the organisation’s policies and procedures
6. Able to work on own initiative providing leadership to the team but at same time able to exercise sound judgement in knowing when to consult with line management
7. A clear understanding and ability to implement risk management, information sharing and data security arrangements.
8. Awareness of and commitment to equal opportunity and diversity practise. Ability to promote and implement diversity practice and policies and treat colleagues and clients fairly and with respect.
9. Demonstrate ability to use IT to a level which will enable high quality reporting to be carried out.
10. Experience of helping people who have experience or are at risk of homelessness with setting up benefits and maintaining their accommodation
