OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Guildhouse School is seeking a passionate and engaging educator to join our faculty in a full-time teaching role.
While your specialism is Chemistry, your skills in delivering engaging lessons and supporting student development are highly valued. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our academic programmes, inspiring students to explore scientific concepts and develop critical thinking skills.
You will contribute to our A-Level Chemistry programme and play a key role in shaping our University Foundation, Pre-A Level and Academic English courses.
We are looking for an individual who can cultivate a love for Chemistry in our students, utilising diverse and dynamic teaching strategies to meet their individual learning needs. In addition to classroom instruction, you will serve as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and guidance to a group of students.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and deliver engaging chemistry lessons that stimulate curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and promote a deep understanding of Chemical concepts and theories.
Utilise a variety of assessment methods to monitor student learning, provide constructive feedback, and track individual progress. This includes setting and marking assessments, coursework, and examinations in accordance with school policy.
Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student well-being and academic success. Provide personalised feedback and guidance to students, and contribute to their overall development.
Serve as a Form Tutor, offering guidance and support to students beyond academic matters, addressing their personal and social-emotional needs.
Collaborate with colleagues to refine and enhance the Chemistry curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant, engaging, and aligned with current research and educational best practices.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessment results, and progress reports.
Actively participate in school events, extracurricular & cocurricular activities, and departmental initiatives to enrich the learning experiences of our students.

REPORTING LINE
This position reports directly to the Curriculum Director of STEAM within the framework established by the Headteacher.
