We currently have an excellent opportunity for a dedicated customer-focused coffee shop supervisor to join our team at a fantastic client in London.
Role requirements (Tasks & Responsibilities):
* Manage a team providing retail breakfast, lunch, grab & go & hospitality offerings.
* Ensure company bookwork is completed accurately and on time.
* Manage stock levels effectively and ensure ordering of goods is handled well.
* Work closely with the CPU for food offerings.
* Hold regular team meetings.
* Train and develop the team.
* Prepare month-end accounts and reports for our client.
* Complete monthly audits.
* Ensure company food standards are adhered to and wastage is controlled.
* Ensure all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
* Ensure all FOH staff attend work at the correct time and wear clean, appropriate uniforms at the start of their shifts.
* Ensure all staff work to the required standards.
* Complete the weekly service rota and re-allocate duties as required according to business needs.
* Ensure cleaning and Health & Safety checklists are completed daily.
* Prepare all service areas for the day's business relating to that meal service.
* Restock and replenish stocks and consumables as required during service periods, pre-empt customer needs, and achieve optimum customer service delivery.
* Keep the kitchen informed of any food running out and pre-empt any delays in customer waiting.
* Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment; properly clean and store equipment, service, preparation, and storage areas.
* Complete all necessary cleaning/hygiene duties.
* Serve customers, visitors, and guests in line with company and client service standards and expectations.
* Empty, remove, and store rubbish/recycle rubbish in the correct place.
* Work additional hours during and out of term time on a rota basis to assist with lettings, functions, and school events.
* Check all special dietary requirements for pupils and staff daily.
* Liaise with the Executive/Duty Chef to ensure all functions, events, and special diets are appropriately catered for.
* Attend daily menu briefings and communicate this information to the front of house team.
General Responsibilities:
* Ensure attendance at all staff meetings as required.
* Adhere to all policies and procedural requirements of both legislation and the company to promote a professional and flexible approach at all times.
* Wear the correct uniform neatly and cleanly at all times.
* Carry out all necessary checks in the service and associated areas for food temperatures.
* Carry out all reasonable requests of the management.
* Be conscientious regarding Health & Safety and report any hazards to the manager.
Key personal skills and attributes:
* Previous experience in a catering environment.
* Previous experience serving customers in a catering establishment.
* Teamwork abilities, listening skills, and the ability to work on one's initiative. Impeccable personal presentation, hygiene, and behavior towards others; Food hygiene certificate preferred.
* Ability to be adaptable and flexible as necessary. Reliable, honest, and able to demonstrate an open, attentive approach to customer service.
* Willingness to learn new skills and take on some responsibility.
* Ability to manage moderately heavy lifting, carrying, and pushing.
* Ability to demonstrate a reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English.
* Ability to demonstrate a reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills.
* Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred.
