Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity available within the ICB for an Assistant Administrator in the Sunderland All Age Continuing Care team. The team is part of the NENC ICB South region covering the areas Sunderland, South Tyneside, Durham and Darlington and Tees Valley. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and enthusiastic individual. This role is a key part of delivering our statutory duty for NHS All Age Continuing Healthcare, and you will be responsible for supporting the All Age Continuing Care Team in the delivery of all aspects relating to the statutory responsibility for NHS funded care. The main function of the role is to provide support to the Continuing Healthcare Team in the processing of Continuing Healthcare/Funded Nursing Care referrals. The role requires contact with outside agencies and patients and families over the telephone and face to face, handling of enquiries, providing non-clinical information and providing updates where possible or forwarding the enquiry to the appropriate team. The post holder will ensure that all elements of the corporate function within the sphere of responsibility are provided with an efficient, high quality administrative service. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a complex and challenging but supportive work environment.

Job responsibilities
Whilst experience of the All Age Continuing Care process is desirable, this is an excellent opportunity for Administrators to increase their knowledge and understanding and enhance their skills whilst being part of an experienced and supportive team. The post holder will also be expected to provide cross cover across all admin functions within the ICB where required.

Qualifications
1. Educated to NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
2. Appropriate NVQ level 3 in Business Administration
3. Understanding of clinical / medical systems
Experience
1. Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative role.
2. Experience of working with computerised data systems.
3. Experience of working with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
4. Experienced in the use of email, and electronic diary management Setting up office systems
5. Experience of working with other professional teams and/or members of the public
6. Experience of working in the NHS/Local Government
7. Previous experience of working in a Continuing Health Care Team
