VANRATH are recruiting an Assistant Site Manager to oversee exciting new social housing apartments in Derry City, Northern Ireland.

They have a great opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager to join them on a permanent basis, initially working on a new build housing project in Derry City, Northern Ireland. The Assistant Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing an integral phase of the project, reporting to a Senior Site Manager.

Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the construction site, including sub-contractors, health and safety of personnel, quality, and workmanship of labour.
2. Managing and co-ordinating site labour and agency staff.
3. Responsible for assisting in the management and day-to-day running of site activity.
4. Assisting the Site Manager in managing the short-term programme to maximise efficiency and ensure completion is in accordance with the schedule.
5. Assisting the Site Manager with management responsibilities for all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
6. Assisting with the management of subcontractors and employees, dealing with any issues as and when required.
7. Delivery of projects on time and to a high specification.
8. Responsible for all document control as an integral part of the project control.
9. Maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS), policies and procedures.
The Ideal Person:
1. Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications.
2. Main Contracting background.
3. Experience with groundworks.
4. Numeracy and IT skills including MS Office, Word and Excel.
5. A full driving licence and relevant site cards.
6. Excellent communication skills and good general commercial awareness.
7. Must be able to use own initiative, taking accountability and responsibility for a project from start to finish.
8. Deadline driven, instilling motivation in the team to hit key targets.
