We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Healthcare Assistant - NHS Health Check to join our team in Milton Keynes. About the Role: As a NHS Health Check Healthcare Assistant (HCA), you will play a vital role in delivering health checks and cardiovascular assessments to patients, helping to identify those at risk of developing serious health conditions like heart disease and diabetes. The role will be based at Brooklands Health Centre, but regular travel is required, as NHS Health Checks will be carried out either at our practices in Milton Keynes or at local workplaces. We offer up to 32 hours per week, including evening hours (6 pm - 8:30 pm) and weekend shifts on Saturdays (9 am 1 pm). Less than 32 hours can also be considered. The pay for this role will reflect these hours, with a rate of up to 15 per hour, dependent on experience, plus an enhanced weekend rate and mileage allowance. Key Responsibilities: Conduct NHS Health Checks and cardiovascular assessments, following national standards and protocols. Provide one-on-one support and guidance to patients on making healthier lifestyle choices. Assist in promoting health screening and raising awareness of primary prevention. Travel to various locations within the local area, given that the health checks will take place both at our practice locations and/or at the patients workplaces Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant healthcare guidelines and policies. Attend training and development sessions to continue improving your skills and knowledge. What We Are Looking For: A motivated individual with a passion for preventative healthcare and supporting patients in making positive lifestyle changes. Experience in delivering NHS Health Checks and cardiovascular assessments (or a willingness to develop these skills). The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. A full driving license and access to personal transport (as this role requires regular travel).
