This role is based in our Maidenhead office and can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office/on site and the option of adjusted start and finish times. What does the role involve? Support the delivery of a wide variety of projects within a multidisciplinary design team for several key clients covering building sustainability certification from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. Core duties and responsibilities will include: Project Delivery Leading embodied carbon analysis for buildings for BREEAM Certification and RICS. Engaging with wider team members at concept design stage to drive sustainability certification outcomes. Attending key internal and external meetings. Coordinating with project managers the programme and information required for BREEAM Certification and embodied carbon analysis studies for individual projects. Liaising with and manage resources with Building Sustainability team to meet date of deliverables. Working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required. Recommending/implementing improvements to design solutions and processes where applicable and share via the knowledge management channels as appropriate. Supporting and driving our culture of added value and innovation. Ensuring health and safety continues to be at the heart of all our operations. Financial/Commercial Management & Tender Activity Managing time allocation of self and less experienced colleagues in execution of projects. Demonstrating commercial awareness in recognising risks and opportunities arising during project execution. Business Development Undertaking Client facing role at appropriate levels within Client organisations that builds long lasting Client relationships, when required. Supporting and driving our behaviours that support excellent CRM. Managing Key Client relationships as allocated or created. Participating, support and drive our culture of client feedback and communication and improvement. To be successful in this role you ll have: Essential Skills A multi-disciplined buildings background. Ideally supported by first degree in relevant discipline. Life Cycle Analysis using One Click LCA. Basic to intermediate skills on CAD packages: preferred AutoCAD and Revit. Ability to communicate ideas in a simple, visual and comprehensive manner. Ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with Clients and other team members and to produce written reports in clear English. Client focussed attitude, ability to represent Sweco in discussions with, and in giving presentations to, Clients, design and contracting teams. Knowledge of Building Regulations, particularly Part L. To have or be working towards a relevant recognised professional qualification. Desirable Skills Ability to carry out Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Basic knowledge of thermal modelling software. Knowledge of materials health and embodied carbon. Graphic design: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign. Knowledge of building optimisation platforms. Basic understanding of fa ade systems and thermal performance. Personal Qualities Strong communication skills in English. The ability to communicate in Swedish or Danish would be advantageous. Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required. Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met. Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions. Project a professional image to clients and colleagues. Able to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors. Able to recognise own impact on others and adapt approach where appropriate. Demonstrate pride in work, through accurate timely delivery.
