Senior Process Development Technologist

Role Purpose
To deliver the successful scale-up of customer-approved concepts, ensuring quality expectations are met and maintaining agreed commercial standards. This role is pivotal in delivering projects correctly and on time, acting as the main point of contact for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicate key actions and highlight issues promptly to stakeholders.
2. Manage workloads with the process technologist team.
3. Review trial reports and necessary documentation such as organs, travel tests, etc.
4. Coordinate raw materials, packaging, and CAPEX adjustments as needed, including briefing engineering on new equipment requirements.
5. Conduct final checks on updated costings and track margin management throughout projects.
6. Attend feasibility trials and weekly category meetings with customers.
7. Support and lead customer-attended trials and PPR/Launches internally.
8. Guide and mentor process technologists during trials and meetings.
9. Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with process technologists, addressing any concerns with the Process Manager.
10. Engage with customers during Gate 3/customer site visits, progressing from observations to leading meetings.
11. Verify internal specifications and oversee sample dispatch.
12. Lead trial planning and mop-up meetings, supporting the team as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Ideally educated to degree level with a food and/or baking specialism, or equivalent knowledge gained through on-the-job training.
2. Understanding of technology and food manufacturing principles relevant to the business area and responsibility.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of technical key performance indicators, GMP techniques, basic hygiene principles, legal labelling, and weight legislation.
4. Proven ability to lead multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate exceptional customer service values.
5. Experience working with one or more major UK retailers.
6. Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
7. Excellent planning, organizing, and communication skills.
8. Full, clean UK driving licence is preferable for travel between sites, customers, and suppliers.
9. Experience in managing direct reports, specifically Technologists.
Work Hours:
1. Monday to Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00
2. Friday: 08:30 - 16:00
3. Flexibility required to support various trial run times.
