An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our small, specialised clinical team on Tysul ward. Tysul Eye Unit offers ophthalmology day case theatre, emergency eye clinics, pre-assessment clinics and also IVT clinics based in Amman Valley hospital.
As a Band 5 staff nurse within the team you will be required to support all areas with other colleagues to deliver a high quality service to meet the needs of the ophthalmology patients in our care.
The post is based at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen. However you will be required to cover clinics in Amman Valley Hospital, therefore the ability to work across trust is an essential requirement.
The ability to work autonomously and at the same time as part of a team and to have a flexible and reliable approach to work is essential. Flexibility is required to cover clinics from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm. We do not open on weekends or bank holidays.
It is essential to have good communication and teamwork skills, and previous experience in ophthalmology would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given to the successful applicant. Good IT skills are also essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
