Environmental Specialist
Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 + Benefits
Location: Kitts Green
Working Hours: Days Only (Mon-Fri)
gap technical is proud to represent this global manufacturing business in their search for an Environmental Specialist to work at their facility based near Kitts Green.
Performance Objectives:
1. Overseeing and coordinating environmental aspects of the site operations to ensure ongoing compliance with legal and other requirements.
2. Conducting and organizing reporting, monitoring, data collection, and other activities as required by UK legislation and local leadership.
3. Coordinating and supporting efforts relating to ESG targets.
4. Leading and supporting environmental improvements across a range of issues in all areas of the facility.
5. Developing strategies, practices, and procedures that reduce environmental risk, add layers of protection, and improve performance in relevant aspects of Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance, and being integral in their implementation.
6. Monitoring and maintaining existing controls to ensure their sustainable and effective application.
7. Reporting of Environmental and ESG performance to internal and external stakeholders.
8. Conducting environmental monitoring and reporting on schedules defined by environmental permits, UK guidance, and Corporate standards.
9. Maintaining and monitoring existing environmental program controls.
10. Keeping abreast of UK legislation and assessing and acting upon changes that impact the organization.
11. Ensuring corporate protocols are complied with and that practices and procedures in place produce the desired results.
12. Management of site waste contract.
13. Management of operational budget of approximately 500K per annum.
Person Specification:
1. 2+ years' experience in environmental management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
2. Working knowledge of ISO14001 management systems and UK environmental permitting.
3. Ability to demonstrate project management skills.
4. Experience working across all levels of a manufacturing business or similar large organization.
5. Proven track record of successful project delivery.
6. Experience in proactive improvement project identification.
7. High degree of computer literacy.
