Creating visually stunning designs for websites, digital interactive experiences (e.g., AR or webGL sites), company promotional assets, and pitch decks. As soon as possible, Powster is a Creative Studio based in London and Los Angeles. We specialise in creating world-class interactive digital experiences and marketing campaigns for major movie studios, broadcasters, music artists, brands, and streamers.
Our work ranges from high-concept websites and large-scale video productions to immersive AR experiences and cutting-edge interactive activations. We like to think that anything is possible, and if we haven’t done it before, we’ll pull together, work it out, and make it happen. Our best work has won FWAs, Webbys, Clios, and Awwwards, and high-profile clients include the likes of Netflix, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Sony Music, and many others. Position Summary
We’re looking for an imaginative and organised Creative Digital Designer to join our London-based Creative Department. You will be joining a small and friendly department of creatives with roles in project management, creative strategy, UX/UI design, AV & motion graphics, and 3D production & animation; and will need to work closely with creative developers to deliver beautiful and functional digital experiences. This role reports into the department’s Creative Lead, with additional management support from the Creative Services Director, and is hybrid with 2 days per week in our Hackney Wick office (though you’re welcome to use the office more if you prefer).
What You’ll Do
1. Pitch Work: Collaborate with the Creative Strategist & Creative Lead to bring creative concepts to life with awe-inspiring (and technically accurate) visuals that meet our varied clients’ objectives & brand requirements. The ability to tell a story with impressive pitch visuals is essential.
2. Live Projects: Own the design phase for live projects under the direction of the Creative Lead, considering everything from UX & functionality to colour theory all the way through to UI details and flourish. Project types include templated platform builds & products, interactive livestreaming, AR/VR, web games, immersive 3D sites, and custom creative sites.
3. Promotional & Awards Assets: Create simple yet beautiful promotional assets for Powster socials & website, client deliverables, and awards submissions. Impactful key visuals that sum up our digital experiences ensure our creative lives on after the campaign period has ended.
4. Task & Timeline Management: Balance tasks for a mix of projects at any given time, ensuring our deliverables remain on schedule.
5. Team & Stakeholder Communication: Communicate your design choices clearly to team members and key internal stakeholders so that everyone can buy into the vision and remain on the same page. Be proactive about questioning or discussing deliverable requirements to ensure that all boxes are ticked when projects enter development.
6. Quality Control: Alongside the Creative Lead, own the design QA process when internal demos are delivered and projects go live to ensure they align with the creative vision and client expectations. You’ll also pitch in on testing activities to confirm project quality before launch.
7. Creative Input: Stay curious and engaged with the latest in digital and creative trends. You’ll bring new ideas into pitch discussions and be a part of shaping creative direction for future projects, helping the team stay innovative and ahead of the curve.
Minimum Requirements
1. 2+ years of professional experience designing creative, digital websites or apps, either in-house at a brand or agency. Entertainment, gaming, or music industry experience is a major plus, but designing with the full user journey in mind is essential.
2. Expert Figma skills, with a knack for setting up projects for success from the get-go with fluency in components libraries, prototyping, design shortcuts, and general Figma project organisation.
3. Solid Photoshop skills with Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects as a plus.
4. An understanding of designing for the web, best practices, and the technologies behind it – creating assets to spec for web environments and facilitating a seamless design-to-development pipeline.
5. Can confidently visualise concepts to varying levels of fidelity from mood boards, sketches, and descriptors to polished site designs, ensuring final deliverables are pixel perfect.
6. A point-of-view and sense of style, while keeping client objectives and brand guidelines in mind.
7. Ability to articulate your visual language clearly and confidently for clients and internal stakeholders to understand, while remaining open to constructive feedback and evolving requirements.
8. Passionate about art direction with a knowledge of where to pull great digital references.
9. Excellent time management that helps you stay on track and organised in a fast-paced work environment.
10. Team spirit – you love collaborating with other creatives to bring fun and exciting concepts to life and will do what you can to be a proactive and supportive teammate throughout the process.
Nice-to-Haves
1. Interest or skills in illustration and animation.
2. Experience with AI tools to expedite workflows or support the creation of visuals, where appropriate.
3. Confidence to identify and address potential project challenges early on, with solutions in mind.
4. A passion for technology, digital marketing, and creative campaigns, with insight into what makes digital activations successful.
5. Familiarity with Asana or similar workflow tools, Google Suite, and comfortable working with digital content management systems.
6. Some basic knowledge of coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to help you collaborate with our developers.
