General Responsibilities:
The entry-level environmental scientist/engineer will principally be an in-person position. A more flexible work-from-home schedule may be acceptable following the introductory period, and after receiving in-person training on Company procedures, software, etc.
The individual will work under the direct supervision of a project manager, or senior level scientist/engineer. Our Company provides air quality, odor control, noise abatement, and environmental due diligence services to public, private, and government entity clients throughout the United States. The individual should have a Bachelor of Science and/or Master of Science in Environmental, Earth Sciences, Public Health, Meteorology, or Engineering. Strong computer skills are preferred.
The individual will be responsible for fieldwork, which requires collecting site environmental samples by measuring air quality, dust, odor, and noise and comparing those to applicable environmental standards. Analyzes information after collection of this data and then reports to clients.
Responsible for travel and fieldwork spent approximately 25% of time on average and offsite project work, which could occur for days to a few weeks of time by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Compiles information on data provided by the client to be used in correspondences, reports, analyses, and memorandums.
2. Provides physical field support for monitoring and collection of air quality, odor, noise, and dust readings and/or samples.
3. Compiles data collected in the field to be used in correspondences, reports, analyses, and memorandums.
4. Assists with figures, report writing and drawings for deliverables.
5. Responsible for sensory nuisance determinations, which require a minimum sense of smell and hearing.
6. Responsible for being flexible with field activities, which can occur day, night, and weekends, in hot and cold weather, and industrial environments in urban, rural, and suburban areas.
7. Maintains basic technical writing skills for correspondences, reports, analyses, and memorandums.
8. Looks for opportunities to assist on, or champion, a technical paper on a project of interest for presentation at a national, regional, or local conference.
9. Responsible for weekly organization and maintenance of the company’s field equipment.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Science and/or Master of Science in Environmental, Earth Sciences, Public Health, Meteorology, or Engineering.
* Strong computer skills are preferred.
* Minimum 1-3 years’ experience preferred, but not required.
Pay Range:
$25-34/hr
