A bit about the role This unique post requires a strong leader with good experience of early years and family support and the ability to manage a fast-changing environment. The Practice Team lead will lead the Early Years Practice Lead and Family support Practitioner to deliver high quality nursery provision and respond to the needs of the women and the babies on the unit through parenting skills and one2one intervention work. This opportunity is for a 12-month secondment to cover maternity leave. In the role of Practice Team Lead you will provide crucial leadership of a team of early years and family support staff to support mothers and their babies, helping them navigate the challenges of parenting while in custody. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include oversight leadership of our Ofsted registered nursery, supporting the Early Years Practitioner Lead to ensure that we meet our statutory obligations for early years. You will lead the family support Practitioner to develop and deliver a holistic approach to the assessment and delivery of parenting interventions. You will require strong communication skills, a nurturing approach, and an understanding of unique challenges faced by families in this environment is a vital for success in this role. About the service Eastwood park's mother and baby unit provides a supportive and nurturing environment for mothers and their babies within a prison setting. The service aims to promote positive family relationships while ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and their children. The unit is designed to meet the unique needs of the families, offering tailor programmes that focus on parenting skills, emotional support, and personal development. By fostering a sense of community and collaboration, Eastwood Parks team help mothers build strong foundations for their children's futures, all while navigating the challenges of their circumstances. The dedicated staff work closely with the mothers to ensure they receive the guidance and resources necessary to thrive as parents. How you'll help to create brighter futures Provide high quality service (including those with a regulatory requirement) to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Collaborate with senior staff and managers to review and evaluate service provision, ensuring continued improvements are made, driving innovation and business development, in particular for an assigned area of work. Provide support to children, young people and families by agreeing and directly applying interventions, liaising with other agencies and professionals. Lead and Participate in multiagency meetings for service planning and case discussions. Ensure quality service delivery through strategic planning, resource development, and budget management. Produce analytical reports to enhance performance and service delivery Let's talk about you Ideally you will have: Relevant level 3 or above qualification in Early Years (required for Ofsted) Previous experience working in a multi-agency setting aged 0 to 5 years. Safeguarding Level 2, able to participate in a range of safeguarding meetings Experience in leading services, staff and teams Communicate effectively and engagingly and to maintain independent professional relationships, boundaries.
