Job Details
The Plant Manager is a working floor position where you will carry out management responsibilities on production lines and directly report to the General Manager of DPS. You will have support from an upper management team and be responsible for production planning, staff scheduling, data collecting and analysis, and coordinating daily production requirements as well as interacting with customers who arrive on-site.
Responsibilities
1. Production Management: Maintain daily workflow for staff according to the production plan. Work closely with a focus on Quality and ensure quality standards are satisfied. Maintain a significant information flow in the workplace.
2. Data Maintain and Report Preparation: Ensure production counts are accurate.
3. Workplace Health and Safety and Training: Participate in workplace safety and health programs. Ensure safety procedures are followed and make recommendations regarding workplace protection. Review, understand, and ensure all operations procedures are followed, serving as a role model to ensure all staff compliance. Recommend improvements to procedures.
4. Office Administrative: Play a liaison role to the general manager in internal and external communication.
5. Direct and Coordinate Daily Operations: Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance. Develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performance. Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times. Screen, interview and manage the onboarding process of new hires. Provide training and educational materials to staff as necessary. Monitor equipment and ensure that they are in good working order. Help assist in equipment operation. Ensure the health and safety of all employees and visitors, including producers, drivers, and other business partners. Oversee the shipping and receiving of pallets and accuracy of orders. Provide assistance, guidance, and training with respect to staff growth. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Develop a culture that fosters positive working relationships within the facility. Collaborate and work together with DPS team members ensuring complete flow of information. Ensure that the facilities and all equipment are clean and well-maintained. Oversee full compliance with all health and safety procedures. Motivate all staff to provide friendly service to transport drivers. Ensure all employees are properly trained to operate tools and equipment. Oversee the implementation of regular repair and maintenance programs. Other responsibilities as required.
Day to Day Operations
1. Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday
2. Communicate with all staff any special requirements for the day.
3. Operate equipment as needed.
4. Review quality of products in the warehouse.
5. Assess inbound and outbound activity and judge it accordingly.
6. Address any concerns that arise with respect and reasonable actions.
7. Keep all staff on all shifts working.
8. Address emails and communication on an as-needed basis with speed and accuracy.
9. Have staff report to you any concerns.
10. Communicate with General Manager regularly on anything that is outstanding or requires attention. Follow up as needed.
11. Provide updates on outstanding items, concerns, or any pending items on a reasonable basis with the General Manager.
Qualifications
1. Hydraulic fundamental knowledge
2. Mechanically inclined
3. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Plant Manager/General Manager
4. Strong and relatable customer service experience
