We’re looking for a Building Maintenance Supervisor to join our Estates Facilities department in Poole. This role will support the RNLI by providing specialist facilities management expertise to ensure a safe, compliant working environment with appropriate facilities for staff, visitors, and volunteers at the Major Sites.

Your Role
As a Building Maintenance Supervisor, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
1. Ensure RNLI Health and Safety policy and standards are fulfilled. Work safely, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of yourself, direct reports, colleagues, customers, contractors, and visitors.
2. Manage and lead a small team of Fabric Maintenance Operatives, delivering maintenance and compliance tasks to industry best practice and legislative standards.
3. Conduct multi-trade fabric property maintenance tasks and installations, such as door repairs, window repairs, wall and floor tiling, light civil ground works, carpentry, joinery repairs, painting and decorating, carpeting, furniture repair, minor plumbing repairs, etc.
4. Manage and co-ordinate subcontractor activity, source subcontractor quotations, and issue permits to work where required.
5. Fulfill compliance maintenance activity ensuring industry best practice and legislative requirements are achieved, such as fire alarm testing, fire door maintenance, weekly sprinkler plant inspections, legionella tasks, emergency lighting inspections, etc.
About You
You will be someone who enjoys the variety of conducting physical work activity and managing a team (on average 70% manual work and 30% office-based). You should be able to lead with confidence, communicate effectively, and enjoy working in a service environment with a pragmatic, positive approach to the role and customers. It is essential that you remain calm under pressure, and are organised and able to manage conflicting priorities while delivering excellent customer service. To be considered as the Building Maintenance Supervisor you will need:
* Essential – Time served apprentice in a building Fabric/Construction trade, multi-skilled tradesperson, City & Guilds Level 2 (or equivalent) in construction/building fabric trade, experience in the Facilities Management industry and associated compliance requirements, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent, IT literate.
* Desirable – City & Guilds Level 3 in relevant trade.
