Information Governance Assistant Location: Legal Services Division, Information Governance and Risk Team Job Type: Full-time- Temporary Rate- £13- £14.50ph We are seeking an Information Governance Assistant to join our Information Governance and Risk team. This role is crucial for providing advice and guidance in all areas related to Information Governance. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and developing systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and supporting staff across the organisation. Day-to-day of the role: Deal directly with members of the public and council staff, providing advice and support on Information Governance issues both face-to-face, over the telephone, and via email. Maintain corporate registers, systems, and databases in line with legislative obligations and corporate standards. Assist in supporting senior managers and all staff in all aspects of Information Governance and Information Sharing. Support and advise staff to ensure an effective response to requests under the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act. Administer relevant corporate ICT systems and organise service processes and procedures, including compiling, analysing, and interpreting reports and management information. Provide supervision and work allocation for temporary staff engaged in the support of Information Governance. Produce and format reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other documentation, and formulate effective communications such as emails and letters. Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant EU and UK legislation, legislative changes, and associated best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in Information Governance within a large organisation. Proven ability to give advice on Information Governance matters and deliver customer-facing services to the public. Experience in maintaining databases and publishing data to intranet and websites. Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to compose complex letters and emails. Persuasion and negotiation skills. Supervision and allocation of work to staff. Preferred: Evidence of undertaking training in Information Governance and awareness of RIPA and CCTV governance issues. Benefits: Competitive salary package.
