Job Purpose / Overview
Are you an experienced Project Planner with a passion for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects? Join the Hinkley Point C team and be part of the UK's largest nuclear power construction project. We are seeking a highly skilled Integrated Project Planner to support the Central Controls team in managing the Level 2/4 Integrated Work Schedule (IWS). You will play a key role in ensuring the alignment of Level 3 contract schedules and provide critical time-related data analysis to help drive project success.
Contextual Information
Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site in West Somerset, and its vision is to build two major EPR nuclear plants. The Construction Delivery Lead will specifically oversee the construction within the Nuclear Island (NI) area, including Units 1 & 2 (N1, N2, and N3). As this project is massive in scale and complexity, we're looking for someone with experience in delivering large projects under challenging constraints.
Principal Accountabilities
As an Integrated Project Planner, you will:
* Produce and maintain the project schedule baseline in Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and construction techniques.
* Manage and update the Level 2/4 IWS to meet project deadlines.
* Collaborate with other Integrated Project Controls Disciplines (Cost, Estimating, Risk, etc.) to ensure data consistency across the project.
* Conduct schedule analysis, identify time-related risks, and provide solutions.
* Support the IPC Planning Manager in driving planning standards, policies, and strategies for the project.
* Lead on the coordination and production of project-level schedule reports and performance analysis.
* Adhere to all Nuclear Safety Culture regulations and Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A strong understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques in a UK context.
* Solid knowledge of Primavera P6 and its application in complex construction projects.
* Experience in engineering, procurement, and construction methods, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects.
* The ability to produce fully logic-linked construction plans.
* A good understanding of contract types, particularly NEC and FIDIC suites.
* Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Familiarity with tools such as EcoSys for earned value management or ARM for risk management.
* Experience within the nuclear sector or other regulated industries.
* An understanding of schedule risk analysis techniques and experience using tools such as Acumen Fuse or @risk.
Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field (HND or equivalent qualification with relevant experience also considered).
* Chartered or professionally qualified status is highly desirable.
* Previous experience in a similar project management or project controls role on major construction projects.
