An opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic professionals to join our multidisciplinary team of Consultant Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthoptists, Ophthalmic Nurses, and Health Care colleagues providing Eye Care services across Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
The post is open to any Qualified Nurse, Orthoptist, or Optometrist.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload, namely patients requiring intravitreal injection treatment as part of a multidisciplinary eye care team within medical retina clinics. Flexibility for delivery of subspecialty and core profession clinics depending on experience.
The post holder will also work with the team to support delivery of education and training across the team.
They will also be expected to work alongside the Trust research team to facilitate participation in Ophthalmology research studies.
Job responsibilities

The post holder will work to support delivery of induction, specialised training, and educational requirements for all clinical colleagues of eye care services.
Supporting Eye Care Services Senior Team to ensure that staff achieve 100% compliance with any Trust mandatory training.
The post holder will also be expected to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the regulatory and legal frameworks related to planning, undertaking, and closure of clinical research studies.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
Essential
* Degree / Diploma in Nursing, Orthoptics, or Optometry
* HCPC, RCN, or GOC Registration
* Postgraduate courses within the specialism of Ophthalmology
Desirable
* IVI injection qualification
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
Essential
* Good knowledge of national policies and procedures related to the role
* Running single-handed clinics
* Ability to perform or willing to train in IVI
* Knowledge of the theory of medical retina disorders
* Teaching experience
* Experience in audit/research
Desirable
* Evidence of CPD and evidence-based practice in medical retina disorders
* IT skills related to the role and undertake presentations as required
