About the role
National Energy System Operator (NESO) is on a journey towards a sustainable and secure energy future. Together we build on this momentum, advancing the Electricity System Operator’s (ESO) plan for zero carbon operability of the electricity system by 2025.
NESO is creating a new in-house HR Operations team, and we are seeking an experienced HR Immigration Advisor with a passion for process excellence to take a lead role across immigration, recruitment, and onboarding to support the newly appointed HR Operations Manager.
The HR Operations team is responsible for delivering all HR operational processes and services including joiners, leavers, absence, right to work, benefits, and reward across the organisation.
This is an exciting time of transformation for our People team at NESO, and this role will be critical in supporting the implementation of our immigration processes and ways of working, supported by our new HR system.
The HR Operations team must deliver an exceptional employee experience through query resolution and delivery, as they will be the first point of contact for NESO colleagues with HR queries. As the immigration expert, you will be the first point of contact for colleagues and also play a role in upskilling the HR administrators in this area.
This role can accommodate hybrid working, but there will be an expectation to be onsite in Warwick 2-3 days a week, and once a month in Wokingham.
Key accountabilities
* Lead on mobility and immigration across the HR Operations team and NESO wide.
* Ensure efficient, effective, and high-quality transactional activities are delivered across the employee lifecycle, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, and immigration.
* Main point of contact to handle queries effectively for external immigration partners and internal stakeholders.
* Provide accurate and timely advice to all NESO colleagues and stakeholders on immigration via phone, email, and live chat.
* Support quality monitoring and coaching to continuously improve customer service.
* Manage a range of UK immigration applications, including Tier 2 and ILR, and provide expert advice.
* Identify process improvements to ease the administration of right to work and background checking.
* Keep up to date on immigration reforms and policies, supporting the implementation of new policies as required.
* Work closely with wider HR colleagues, including Talent Acquisition, HRBPs, and Reward.
* Ensure data accuracy, compliance with GDPR, and robust reporting where required.
* Support the development of operating procedures and service standards to ensure high quality and consistent HR service delivery.
* Provide day-to-day coaching to the HR Operations Admin support team members on immigration, recruitment, and onboarding.
* Provide ideas for process and efficiency improvements to enhance the employee experience.
* Manage and coordinate your own volume caseload.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has proven experience in a HR Immigration Advisor role, including knowledge of recruitment and onboarding.
* Has experience in providing advice and guidance on immigration-related matters.
* Has proven experience in a HR Operations Advisor role with strong proficiency in HR Information Systems.
* Has experience of working with Trade Unions (desirable).
* Can generate and analyse HR data reports, manipulating via Excel where needed.
* Has strong attention to detail, particularly in identifying potential risks.
* Possesses strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to influence and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Has exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple changing priorities.
* Can work effectively as part of a team and proactively contribute ideas for process improvements.
* Has a customer-centric mindset with a passion for creating a positive employee experience.
* Works effectively with 3rd Party providers to ensure seamless service.
About what you'll get
A competitive salary between £45,000 - £50,000 – dependent on experience and capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on company performance, 26 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme.
