We're looking for a Social Sustainability Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in the South East Location : Can be based anywhere within the South East- hybrid working plus travel to offices/ sites within the region Hours : 37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us What will you be responsible for? As the Social Sustainability Manager, you'll be working with the Senior Social Sustainability Manager in our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks business and our wider sustainability team to ensure that the business achieves their social value commitments at client, regional and national levels. As such, the role is responsible for planning and reviewing the reach, impact and effectiveness of our social value activities, driving a cultural of continuous improvement and ensuring our strategy delivers optimal return on investment. Your day to day will include: Development of social value commitments as outlined in project contracts to meet required deadlines. This will include reviewing local needs analysis to identify local business partners, schools, colleges, universities, community groups, charities, and social enterprises that we can work with on a local basis to help deliver targeted social value interventions Serve as a social value expert for our teams, frameworks, and national partners or customers, offering guidance and best practices Support work winning teams with basic response planning, social value estimates and reviewing of responses to sense check social value commitments made Support mobilisation of social value commitments on newly awarded contracts Review case studies to support work winning, and production of newsletters to comminicate activities with the business and externally Use social media to promote social value activity by working closely with our marketing and communications team What are we looking for? This role of Social Sustainability Manager is great for you if you hold: Experience within a similar social sustainability role, with strong people management skills Working knowledge of social value legislation (PPN 06/20) Social Value Act and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Experience of managing people and working with disadvantaged communities and an understanding of diverse and complex needs A deep understanding of social value and experience in tender bidding and shaping customer-focused social value solutions as well as creating and delivering social value interventions Full driving licence We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
