Graduate Planner Role Overview This is a full-time role to be based in the Peterborough office, although travel to developments will be required. This is an opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual who wants the opportunity to develop a career in the housebuilding industry. The ideal candidate will be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with strong client relationship skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. As a Planning Graduate you will work with the Land and Planning teams getting involved at the first stage of the build process to acquire land for development with a view of building quality homes and communities. There will be a variety of exciting projects to work on, helping develop your knowledge and skills. Key Responsibilities Assisting planning colleagues to complete appraisals for potential immediate and strategic development opportunities. Assisting Planning colleagues in the co-ordination and preparation of planning applications and then maintaining involvement throughout the planning process. Management of minor variation, condition clearance, pre-application advice and section 106 obligation discharge applications. Coordination of public engagement exercises and liaison with key stakeholders and community groups. Developing relationships with Local Planning Authorities and industry professionals. Assistance in maintaining a Local Planning Authority Monitoring database. Skills Required RTPI accredited course Related work experience beneficial Well organised, with excellent attention to detail Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships with a variety of clients Team player: demonstrating an ability to integrate and function within a busy, multi-disciplinary team and wider business / office. Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and have good time management skills Highly motivated, with a desire to progress, deliver high standards of work The successful Graduate Planner will preferably hold an MRTPI accredited degree with a willingness to proceed through the APC process (to be supported by the Planning team).
