Job summary This position is for an accredited echocardiography physiologist or clinical scientist (BSE accredited or equivalent) who possesses knowledge and experience in advanced echocardiography techniques such as stress, transesophageal, bubble, contrast, 3D/4D/GLS echocardiography. The successful candidate would perform independent scanning for their own transthoracic echocardiography lists. Moreover, they would be required to independently report on clinical findings and effectively escalate findings based on expert opinion. Cleveland Clinic London has been awarded British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) departmental accreditation across transthoracic, stress, transesophageal, emergency echocardiography and training. Main duties of the job The post holder will perform specialist echocardiography (i.e., stress, cardiopulmonary stress, bubble, contrast, TOE) and will also lead on non-clinical tasks and projects such as quality assurance and audit, service improvement, and IT, machine, and infection control maintenance. Ensure that personal knowledge is kept up to date and reflects current requirements in clinical echocardiography. Contribute to the development of protocols and standards of care for patients undergoing echocardiography examinations. Undergo internal sign off in specialist echocardiography including stress, cardiopulmonary stress, bubbles, contrast, and transoesophageal echocardiography, and where required complete the necessary accreditation. To lead on the development of, and adhere to, departmental protocols on relevant echocardiography procedures. Education, Teaching and Professional Development: Provide training, guidance and support for fellow echo physiologists, junior staff, and clinical fellows, and where required oversee and take professional responsibility for the trainees clinical work. Assist with echocardiography education sessions throughout Cleveland Clinic London. Maintain own proficiency in echo and other technical skills by keeping up to date with current guidelines.
