An opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Specialist to join our Ophthalmology Team and assist in caring for patients with conditions requiring Intra-vitreal Anti-VEGF injections.
The post holder will autonomously provide intra-vitreal injection treatment and care to patients, as prescribed. This will include liaison with the Clinic Co-ordinator, Secretary and Consultant Ophthalmologist with Retina Lead to ensure continuity of care.
As well as performing intravitreal procedures, the post holder will liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including Ophthalmologists, secretarial / booking Staff and Eye Care Liaison Officers to ensure patients receive the best possible care and receive any necessary treatment in a timely fashion.
As a Nurse for the specialism, the post holder will be expected to be involved in the development of future nursing involvement in the medical retina injections team.
Please note, this specialty involves three locations across Dumfries and Galloway with services delivered at Mountainhall Treatment Centre, Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and Galloway Community Hospital at Stranraer and therefore, independent travel across all three sites may be required.
