We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Estimator to join our team in West Yorkshire, Wakefield. As the Fabrication Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects, collaborating closely with project managers and engineers to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates for fabrication projects based on drawings and specifications.
Analyse project requirements and determine materials, labour, and equipment needed.
Work closely with project managers and engineers to understand project scope and requirements.
Review and interpret technical documents to accurately estimate project costs.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest value engineering alternatives.
Prepare and submit timely and accurate estimates to clients.
Participate in bid reviews and negotiations with clients.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all estimates.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Fabrication Estimator or similar role.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
Relevant degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in fabrication estimating.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
Advanced knowledge of fabrication processes and materials.
Familiarity with estimating software and tools.
Understanding of cost control and project management principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification in Estimating or related field.
Experience in the manufacturing or engineering industry.
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in an office environment, collaborating with project teams and external clients. Occasional site visits may be required to assess project requirements
