Job summary
An exciting Band 6 CT Radiographer opportunity has arisen at Musgrove Park hospital, working in a busy and forward-thinking radiology department.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated radiographer who is passionate about CT imaging.
This role will see you working alongside a multidisciplinary team in our emergency, trauma and orthopaedic department as well as in our GP, inpatient and outpatient peripheral settings.
We currently hold QSI accreditation, demonstrating high standards in patient safety, staff well-being, and clinical governance.
We offer a robust preceptorship programme and a wide range of CPD opportunities, both within the department and through the online learning platform for the trust.
The trust has a supportive well-being programme available to all staff, and the department has Well-being Champions offering immediate support.
Main Duties
* To deliver the high standard, safe, efficient delivery of the demanding and increasing workload of CT imaging. This will consist mainly of the preparation and scanning of patients, including assisting in daily management tasks.
* We support a number of learners in our trust from a variety of HEIs. Our students range from assistant practitioners, apprentices, and undergraduates through to MSc and PhD students. We would expect you to engage with this and facilitate their learning. We have a practice educator in post and access to simulation equipment to support this.
* Primarily your main aim is to produce high-quality CT images and to demonstrate good teamwork. We would expect the post holder to have a good understanding of current practice and engage with audit, research and maintain their own CPD. We hold regular CPD sessions and would expect full involvement with this.
Person specification
Qualifications
* DCR or BSc in radiography.
* HPC registered.
* Trained to undertake IV cannulation and administer contrast media.
* Post-graduate experience of CT scanning.
Experience
* Experience of working in NHS.
* Minimum 2 years WTE, post-graduate experience.
* Post-graduate CT scanning experience.
* Experience of working in a busy imaging department, providing a full range of imaging.

* Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
