Within a multi-disciplinary team assist in the co-ordination and delivery and development of a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation and secondary/primary prevention programme as part of Wirral Community Cardiology Services across three main sites in Wirral.
Main duties of the job
The role will include managing a caseload of patients from referral though to discharge as well as the assessment of functional capacity and the prescription of exercise for a wide range of complexities. The role also involves working within the Tier 3 weight management service, delivering exercise guidance and assessment for those accessing the bariatric pathway.

Person Specification
Qualifications and professional training
* Minimum of 2:1 BSc in Exercise Physiology or closely related subject
* Evidence of postgraduate study in relevant subject areas
* Member of British Association of Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)
* Ability to facilitate Exercise Tolerance Testing for diagnostic and prescriptive purposes
Experience and knowledge
* Experience of facilitating group and individual exercise sessions for different client/patient groups
* Experience of facilitating group education sessions
* Knowledge of the Nursing 6 C's
* Up to date knowledge of national and local strategies to reduce cardiovascular disease (CVD)
* Experience of working within a cardiovascular rehabilitation setting
* Experience of managing a clinical caseload
Skills and atributes
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to work both under direction and independently
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to record and interpret 12-lead ECGs
* Enthusiastic, dynamic and outgoing personality
