We are seeking a highly motivated Store Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations at our Bond Street retail store, drive sales, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong background in luxury retail, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for high-end interior design.
Role Overview
As the Store Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of our Mayfair store, ensuring an outstanding shopping experience for both trade and retail clients. You will support the Store Manager in driving sales, managing customer relationships, and maintaining impeccable store presentation. Additionally, you will assist with product development, trade partnerships, and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Experience
* Drive sales performance by proactively identifying new opportunities and ensuring sales targets are met.
* Provide exceptional customer service, catering to high-net-worth individuals and trade clients with a tailored approach.
* Build long-term client relationships, ensuring repeat business through personalised interactions and CRM follow-ups.
* Stay informed on market trends, competitor products, and customer preferences to enhance sales strategies.
* Oversee and support in-store and online sales, ensuring seamless transactions and high customer satisfaction.
Store Operations & Team Management
* Ensure the store operates smoothly, maintaining high visual merchandising and display standards.
* Manage stock and inventory, ensuring timely restocking and optimal product presentation.
* Process online orders, handling packaging and shipping with precision.
* Assist with recruitment and training of junior sales assistants as needed.
Marketing & Brand Representation
* Support marketing initiatives, including product photoshoots, newsletters, and social media content.
* Represent Mekhann at trade shows, design fairs, and industry events, reinforcing the brand’s presence in the luxury market.
* Engage with the design team to provide insights into customer preferences and trends, influencing future product development.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in luxury retail, preferably within interiors, textiles, or home décor (minimum 3+ years).
* Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
* A natural people person with outstanding interpersonal skills and a polished, professional demeanor.
* Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident in handling customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
* A proactive mindset, eager to take ownership and drive business growth.
* Familiarity with CRM systems, Shopify, and e-commerce operations is a plus.
