As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team by managing day-to-day financial transactions and assisting with the smooth running of the organisation's accounts. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of finance functions. Key Responsibilities: Process and maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are handled efficiently. Assist in preparing VAT returns and other financial submissions. Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies. Support the preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts. Assist with payroll processing and ensuring accurate employee payments. Help maintain accurate financial records and assist in implementing effective internal controls. Provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes. Liaise with suppliers and resolve any finance-related queries. General administrative tasks to support the finance team. Qualifications: Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance assistant role. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular). Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Basic understanding of accounting principles and VAT regulations. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple tasks effectively. Willingness to learn and develop professionally within the finance field.
