Therefore, we require a hard-working, open-minded, passionate & humble individual within the role of Academy Player Support Officer. The purpose of the role will be to:
Create a world-leading learning environment that equips our aspiring footballers with the pastoral support, personal development and wellbeing required to thrive, both in their sporting careers and beyond.
This exciting new position in our Academy will be responsible for:
* Developing authentic, caring & professional relationships with our professional development phase players and families.
* Overseeing transitions & induction of players to and from the professional development phase.
* Developing an individualised life-skills & personal development programme for players in the professional development phase.
* Creating and delivering informal & formal methods to support the mental & emotional wellbeing of our professional development phase players.
* Working closely with senior staff to ensure professional development phase players have safe & appropriate accommodation & transport provision.
* Ensuring we receive regular players & family feedback so they feel genuinely heard and we create insights that help us improve their experience.
About The Candidate
The successful candidate will need to hold the following qualifications:
* Desirable: Degree level experience
You will have experience of working within a Player Care or pastoral role in a high-performance environment. You will have line management experience and a good understanding of the EPPP. Here at Wycombe Wanderers FC, we are known for our culture and values leading the way, and the right people will need to fit into that. You will work hard, but the great thing about football is that you will directly see the results.
Qualifications
* Degree Level Education
* Valid FA Emergency Aid Certificate
* Valid Safeguarding Certificate & DBS
Skills, knowledge and experience
* Experience of working in an elite environment within Player Care
* Track record of demonstrating high performance achievement in a professional environment
* Understanding of the rules & regulations of youth development
* An appreciation and experience of supporting other coaches
* Understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan
* Experience of managing individuals and teams
* Flexible approach to working hours including working evenings and weekends
* Ability to produce high quality written documentation
* IT skills to include a high level of competence using Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
* Knowledge and understanding of working with young players
* Ability to work in a team environment
