This vacancy is for an Apprentice Engineering Fitter based in Burnley.
The broad purpose of the occupation is to produce complex high value, low volume components or assemblies in full or part, using machines, equipment or systems, to the required specification.
Proctor Process Plant is a family-owned business operating since 1983. We design and manufacture a complete range of industrial burner and heater systems, employing direct, indirect, infra-red and tube firing technology, in addition to supplying associated controls, instrumentation and ancillary equipment.
We are on the lookout for a new Apprentice Engineer to join our team in Burnley! This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team of Engineers and experience a range of different skills in Engineering as well as studying towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship Qualification. You will be enrolled onto the Fitter Level 3 Apprenticeship and will work with our Training Provider, Training 2000, to gain the skills required to become a Mechanical Fitter.
Your role will include but is not limited to:
1. Manual Milling
2. Manual Turning
3. Welding
4. Special projects unit
You will be exposed to a wide range of engineering skills so this is a fantastic opportunity to learn and evolve as an Engineering apprentice. Pay can be reviewed after the first 3 months then every 6 months in line with performance. For those applying that are older than 18, we will meet national minimum wage; this can be discussed at interview.
We are looking for someone who is:
1. Friendly, reliable and able to work in a team
2. Able to work towards working at height
3. Can use their own initiative
4. Open to working overtime (Paid when required)
5. Has a full driving license (Desirable)
Training to be provided
Level 3 Engineering Fitter BTEC Extended Diploma.
Functional Skills, Level 2 in Mathematics and English – if required.
