Job Title: Planning Officer (Development Management)
Salary and Hours: Band D £31,617 to £35,682, 37 hours per week

About the Role
Are you passionate about shaping the future of growth and planning in South Norfolk and Broadland District Councils? We are seeking a motivated Planning Officer to join our Development Management Team. This role offers the opportunity to work across two authorities, gaining diverse experience in a wide range of planning applications, supporting our ambitious growth agenda while protecting our environment.
Responsibilities
* Handle approximately 4,000 planning applications annually across urban, rural, and market town areas.
* Contribute to delivering significant housing and commercial developments, infrastructure projects, and key employment sites.
* Work within a motivated team to create exceptional places for residents to live and work.
Location and Working Arrangements
The office is located in the modern Horizon building near Norwich, a city known for its rich history, culture, and natural beauty. The role offers a hybrid working model, combining home and office work, with office days supported by excellent transport links, cycling facilities, and amenities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant qualification (HNC or related degree) and/or proven experience in a planning environment.
* Minimum 3 A levels or equivalent, plus GCSEs in English and Maths, or NVQ Administration Level 3.
* Experience in Development Management, particularly in determining planning applications, is preferred.
