This privately owned group of companies has recently brought in a new Finance Director to oversee the next phase of their growth. Operating across different divisions, they specialise in industrial processing and provide solutions to a variety of UK-based manufacturing customers. Recent investment into new plant machinery has prompted a requirement for a Finance Analyst to join the business and generate a better understanding of production processes by providing high-quality financial information and analysis.
Reporting directly into the FD, this role will involve close interaction with the central finance team and operational staff throughout the business and would be ideally suited to someone with a manufacturing background looking to add value and make improvements. A key focus of the role will be to drive a better understanding of production and processes, look at stock, costings, and materials, analysing yields to identify areas for improvement to optimise processes and profitability. You will be assessing systems and key areas of weakness, potentially also being involved in the selection and implementation of new software. Central to the role will be the need to develop reports and dashboards for key stakeholders, reviewing performance against budget, working with large data sets turning them into productive information; experience of Power BI or similar would be very useful.
This really is an opportunity you can make your own and you will have a high degree of autonomy. The factory runs 24/7, so they are open to someone starting early/finishing early to avoid traffic or fit around out-of-work commitments. There is also scope to work from home occasionally once up and running. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with a good background in manufacturing accounting who is keen to play a part in a business going through a period of change and modernisation.
